Stability. It’s a word that resonates deeply with many of us, particularly as we navigate the tumultuous seas of adulthood.  The quest for a balanced life can often feel like an elusive goal. The constant feeling that we need to be at a particular stage that gives us peace and some sense of security. Stability can be defined as the state of being steady and unchanging. It involves having a firm foundation that allows for predictability and reliability. Stability is not synonymous with stagnation; rather, it provides a secure base from which we can explore, grow, and adapt. It encompasses various dimensions, including financial stability, emotional stability, relationship stability, and professional stability.

First, let’s define what we mean by stability. It’s not about having a perfect life free from challenges. You have to understand what influences you to gain stability Finding a core motivating factor to stability can be compared to finding fulfillment in your journey for the same. We have to point out how strong the effect of peer pressure is at this stage of transitioning. Understanding that what you want is basically good for you and not for the crowds opens up doors for persistence, resilience and grace while pursuing stability.

Budgeting: As an adult you are required to create a detailed budget to track income and expenses. Whereas it helps in identifying areas where you can cut costs and save more, budgeting can also help to understand the importance of needs and making wise choices when fulfilling them

Emergency Fund: Establish an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses. Aim to save at least three to six months’ worth of living expenses.

Investing: when deciding to invest you have to understand your capability in line with the goals you have; financial muscles, diverse knowledge of the same and level of resilience and grace. One mistake people do as adults that could include myself is choosing investment plans that are way beyond their current stamina for the same which in most cases they end up losing.

You should be able to understand that investments are like raising a child. The pride of owning it comes together with constant engagements, guidance, commitment and patience. One should be patient enough to understand when investors are not choosing his business despite him/her thinking that it deserves to be invested in. I often compare donors to irresponsible partners in child raising, they come at the moments of winning. Beating the process can only be done by focusing on the day’s accomplishments and keeping the hope for a better tomorrow.

Debt Management: one of the thing that the impossibility of having them is close to zero as an adult is debts. Debts come in when someone is trying to make some ends meet. They can be draining since debts are like spending in the present future money. Lacking the correct goal before getting a debt can cause a constant trail of debts for a long time. Understand your needs and wants, and fullfil each depending on their level of importance. For the wants that you can do without, leave them and avoid taking debts for the same.

Most people often look for such kind of help during heartbreaks and depression. Professional assistance is vital at all times.

Healthy Boundaries: Establish healthy boundaries in personal and professional relationships. This helps in maintaining a balance between giving and receiving support.
